Just a quick update to say: I'm not dead, and I am planning on doing more novel translations. Life has pretty much steamroller'd me on many different levels, and I just haven't found the time or energy to do it lately. But, I promise that as soon as I find that energy I will work on them again, I haven't given up :3

I also need to extend an apology to the various people I keep in contact with outside of LJ :c I really do love you guys, and I'm sorry that I haven't been replying/commenting/msn'ing/skyping like I want to. As I said, steamroller'd. 

Buuut! In case I didn't mention, the amazingly lovely ucco sent me Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Vol 2: Best Friends for my birthday! :D :D I am halfway through the bios for that book, and I plan to get that up before I keep working on the first BBS novel~ I just hate those freaking bios. For now though, have some info on the book itself:

I found a nice scan of the cover here! The colours are actually a lot softer in real life, though. Aquaaaa~ so cuuute X3 Unlike the boring sparkles on the back of the first book, this one has a weird picture of Lea and Isa, which I have taken a bad webcam shot of (and a closeup of Isa cause he is fabulous) for you, since I sadly don't have a scanner here :C (I sacrificed a boring white box with the barcode and stuff, if you're wondering about the dimensions, lol)

Apart from that, same as the first volume, there are also no extra illustrations by Amano Shiro in this book, just seven full colour bio pages with renders of most of the characters in the game. I already knew it wouldn't cause he said so and apologised about it on his blog in like March, but I was still kind of sad  :c Oh well, poor guy seems to have a lot on his plate. Haha, he also answered a reader question about whether he and Kanemaki are friends; he says just like she wrote in the Afterword, they keep making and having to scrap plans to meet 8D;

Aww thank you! Ahaha, it's winter here in the southern hemisphere ;A;

Whoops! Duh, I should have realized that sooner. :P It's so odd to imagine that half of the world is in winter right now... I'm getting cold thinking about it! (I'll trade you. 96 F degree heat daily gets old real quick.) :P

Haha that's ok! Sometimes I think I hate winter (dry skin, cold, wet) but when summer rolls around I bet I'll feel just like you @__@

I saw actually!! I thought the game was fun 8D But I also thought the plot was a bit weirdly executed and had a lot of ass pulls. Maybe the novels will feel more cohesive?

Can't wait to see the cover, I hope it has Mickey~

Gameplay was actually pretty good, but it was the story that killed me. It's sad to see the day when KH pulls out a game fully for its cash cow-ness. D: I got nothing at all from that game, other than the fact that it is indeed possible to put in 124 hours (and counting) on collecting avatar parts for an avatar that is basically useless. -.-;

Yep, I have high hopes for the novel. Perhaps the author can salvage something of the mess? And I fully expect Org XIII coat-wearing Riku to appear on the cover, or the author's gonna get a letter written via Google translate. DX

Because I was playing with my brother mucking around we just made fun of the plot and so I don't really have bad memories, just fun ones XD BUT my a friend of mine loved the game, and he posted a lot of essays and impressions on it that changed my mind about some of the things I misunderstood. You can take a gander here if you like~ I still maintain it wasn't executed very well though -__-;

Wellll I personally thought Days had an even worse plot, and she wrote the story for that game, so who knows...! Her other novelisations have been pretty good though.

Ooh, I'll be sure to take a look. :D I always love reading KH essays/thoughts/theories by fans; there's so much to talk about. :D

I thought Days was pretty good (except for Roxas. How could he go almost an entire year before finally growing a pair? DX He was cute at first, but the "Let's be stupid and pretend that everyone loves everyone for who they REALLY are" wore off real fast. -.-). The novelisation was...lacking in certain areas, but not undreadable *shrugs* (your translation was top-notch, as always).
