Let's go to the Sea: Important Scene

This is the end of the first chapter of the game novel 'Kingdom Hearts 2: Short Stories Vol. 2 Axel--Seven Days'. The chapter is called 'Let's go to the Sea' and is pretty much just about Roxas, Hayner and Pence getting munny to pay for their train ticket. However, the end of this chapter has importance to Axel's chapter, so I'm posting it.

"Will we call it a day?" Olette stood up.
"Yeah..." Roxas' expression was gloomy.
"Well, see you tomorrow!" Hayner and Pence started off down the clock tower.
"Don't worry about it too much, okay?" Olette said over her shoulder, as she went to leave the clock tower. Roxas gave a small nod at her words, and polished off his ice-cream in a hurry, scrambling to his feet.
The sun was sinking.
It should be the same sunset as always. Why does it look different, somehow?
Something is about to change...
Am I remembering this view...?
"Roxas--!"
He heard Pence's voice, calling out to him from below the clock tower.
"I'm coming!" Roxas replied, and turned his back on the sunset, dashing down the clock tower.
In the end, we couldn't go to the sea. But, I'd be happy if we could go tomorrow.
I want to go to the sea with everyone. Because, we promised we'd all go to the beach on the holidays.
With who?
That's--that's decided. Hayner and Pence, and Olette, and me all promised we'd go to the sea together.
See, if I close my eyes, I can hear the good old sound of the waves.
Blue sea, blue sky.
We'll watch the sinking sun together on the beach.
Different to the sunset we always see, a special sunset.
Twilight Town's setting sun--was shining on Roxas' back.

I don't think I'll post more of chapter one though.
Here's an overview: Roxas and Hayner race to put up posters. Pence tries to do that mission where you smack a cart up the hill and he gets squished by the cart. Olette does the letters and wishes she could ride a skateboard.

Thanks so much again, these are so interesting ^-^ Wow, I he's remembering Sora's memories (and again, we now know that he, Xion, and Axel have all been to the beach, so that could be it ^-^'). Good luck with the rest =)

Yeah! Actually, later on (day 6) Axel thinks something like
"I didn't do anything yesterday. i could have even called it a day off. A holiday...... In the end, (I/you/we) couldn't go, could (I/you/we)..."
I don't know whether he's talking about how Roxas didn't get to go to the beach that time (which I'm not sure he knew about), or if he's talking about some promise to Roxas (and Xion?) to go to the beach or what.
I thought it might have had something to do with what Roxas half-remembered... but if it was Sora's memory, then it wouldn't... if only the Japanese always identified the subject of a verb!!
